Figures of success for the band
Who's earning money of Tokio Hotel?
Where Tokio Hotel performs, fans scream. As the cashregister is ticking the CD and merchandise sales are sky high. But who's actually earning money on this? really deserves in the bustle? BILD explains.
The Magdeburg quartet earn more cash than average in the industry. Other artists receive an average of 17 percent of the sale price on their CDs, Tokio Hotel and their producer team earn between 20 to 25 percent.
However, the German highachievers also lower the costs for the record label. The band records the tracks themselves and provides finished material, reports "Welt am Sonntag".
In three years Tokio Hotel has generated 40 million euros in revenues on record sales alone. Furthermore the merchandise sales include double-digit millions per year.
In addition, the boys have reached "Priority Status" at their record company Universal Music Germany. That means that all Universal subsidiaries have to market Tokio Hotel in their country. The special status also result in the German subsidiary recieving double-digit percentage in commision on the sales in the U.S.
That has never happened before. That must also make the band surprisingly happy.
